In this interview we finally get a hint of why the Xbox is getting the special treatment.
We all know Infinity Ward is getting a lot of love from Microsoft and the other way around. PlayStation and PC gamers often feel left out because all the demos are on Xbox 360, the (temporary) exclusive Modern Warfare 2 map pack and now the Limited Edition Xbox 360. This is all due to the long and very good relationship between Microsoft and Infinity Ward. Albert Penello, Senior Director of Global Marketing at Microsoft tells us his perspective on the subject.

Albert: "In every generation there is franchises that is associated with certain consoles, that aren't just the first parties. You know, on Xbox 1 we had games like Splinter Cell, and I think that even when we launched the Xbox 360 Call of Duty 2 was a launch title. It was a huge game and Call of Duty has always been one of the most played games on Xbox LIVE. So it has always been a game that we have had a great relationship with the developer, a great relationship with Activision. We feel really close to those guys and we know the LIVE community is huge with Call of Duty."

Even though it's shaky and at an angle, it shows clear images of Special Ops at Paris Expo 2009.

It's funny how we all expected lots of new material to be released (or leaked) at GamesCom 2009 and nothing happened. Now we don't hear anything about the Paris Expo and suddenly there is a new lengthy video showing some Special Ops action! The mission is called "Breach and Clear" in which you will have to get from A to B as fast as you can, without dying of course...

It also confirms the M1014 shotgun for Special Ops.

Modern Warfare 2 Perks

Modern Warfare 2 features new Perks and retains some older ones from Call of Duty 4. Each Perk can now be upgraded to a "Pro" version, by completing its challenge.

Note: The upgrades don't always make the Perk stronger, instead it might add a new feature or a side effect, for example: Marathon Pro allows you to get over obstacles faster.

Martyrdom \| Martyrdom Pro	Ability: Drop a grenade when killed. Pro Ability: ? Note: Although this Perk was confirmed earlier at E3 2009, there might be a chance that it will be left out from the game. In a recent interview by Giant Bomb, Robert Bowling stated that in the previous titles the Martyrdom Perk was to help out people who were struggling with the game, but it was abused by people who didn't need it, so they decided to make the game more accessible by adding Death Streaks. Was Bowling hinting that the Death Streaks are to replace the Martyrdom Perk? Hopefully someone from Infinity Ward will clear this up soon.

One of the best selling games in gaming history is back, and hopefully better than ever. Call of Duty:Modern Warfare 2, will present wars in modern times, even some that don't exist, like the main war of the game- Russia and Brazil, or some area with rain forests. Some weapons included will be the usual, like the M4 Carbine, AK47, MP5, G3, Scorpion, MP40, and a new sniper rifle, known as SR25M, which is used by the U.S Marine Forces. Other weapons used in CoD4 may or may not return. The game itself, which is a huge flaw is no Co-Op campaign, which actually brought up CoD: World at War. Multiplayer is rumored to stay the same, and the graphics will get better. Hopefully some new features will come along like a map editor, mini-games (like Nazi Zombies) or something. From what we've seen so far, we got amazing graphical changes, new cutting edge design (where it shows your ammo and scores), new weapons, new ways to destruction, like AC230, different airstrikes, and more. Also included is customizable kill streaks. You can now change what you get on kill streak, and somehow, if you get one kill, they'll consider that as a kill streak, and give you a helicopter. No, we can't clarify those kinds of details, but hey. We're trying. So, pre-order it. You probably won't be sorry, but you will be if you're trying to buy it from GameStop the day is comes out. Pre-order it.

Standard service carbine of the U.S. Armed Forces, preferred weapon of the Marine Corps. Fires on full-auto. This is one of the most popular guns you'll see on most servers, since it can lay a lot of bullets on a target in a very short amount of time with minimal recoil. On paper it's not very powerful, but if you aim it carefully it'll drop enemies in short order. If you just can't seem to draw a bead on moving targets with the burst-fire M16, switch to the M4 and you should get better results. This one does just about everything you'll want it to, except for maybe max-range sniping and super-fast ninja-ing. Standard service carbine of the U.S. Armed Forces, preferred weapon of the Marine Corps. Fires on full-auto. This is one of the most popular guns you'll see on most servers, since it can lay a lot of bullets on a target in a very short amount of time with minimal recoil. On paper it's not very powerful, but if you aim it carefully it'll drop enemies in short order. If you just can't seem to draw a bead on moving targets with the burst-fire M16, switch to the M4 and you should get better results. This one does just about everything you'll want it to, except for maybe max-range sniping and super-fast ninja-ing.

Gameplay:
Modern Warfare 2 is set several years after the conclusion of Call of Duty 4. Sergeant "Soap" MacTavish will return as a non-playable character, and has been promoted to captain in the Special Air Service.MacTavish will lead an elite, multinational commando unit, Task Force 141, to counter the resurgent Russian Ultranationalist organization. The group is now led by Vladimir Makarov, a former associate of Imran Zakhaev with his own nationalistic ambitions. Makarov has been portraying Zakhaev's death as an act of martyrdom to garner support for his cause, and has built a strong power base in Russia over the years. In response to the threat posed by Makarov, the global community established Task Force 141 to stop him. Mission settings include the mountains of Russia, a desert in Afghanistan, and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

A "Special Forces" mode will be featured in Modern Warfare 2, comparable to the "Mile High Club" epilogue mission in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, consising of isolated missions in a variety of settings unrelated to the campaign story. The main campaign will not support cooperative play, but the "Special Forces" mode will have a two-player cooperative option.
